Honorable
Lydia Nance-Adams, a native of Detroit, graduated from Thomas
M. Cooley High School in 1978. She received a Bachelor of Business
Administration from Western Michigan University in 1986 and
her Juris Doctor from the Detroit College of Law in 1990. Prior
to being elected to the 36th District Court in 1996, Judge Nance-Adams
served as an investigator and legal analyst for the Michigan
Department of Commerce. Thereafter she litigated hundreds of
cases specializing in municipal ordinances as Assistant Corporation
Counsel for the City of Detroit.

Presently
Honorable Lydia Nance-Adams has extended her commitment to public
service as Judge of the Environmental Docket, adjusting quality
of life cases pertaining to the health, safety and cleanliness
of Detroit and its citizens.
Judge Lydia Nance-Adams remains active in
her community by speaking at various neighborhood organizations
providing information about courtroom procedures and applicable
laws. |
